First, apply vinyl stickers only to clean, smooth surfaces. The cleaner the surface, the better your sticker will adhere. Sticker may be removed, but doing so may destroy the decal. Application to surfaces colder than 40 degrees is not recommended, unless the surface can be heated slightly with a hair dryer before application.
Before application, place the sticker on a flat surface and remove the white backing sheet (liner), leaving the sticker attached to the top transfer tape.
Dry Method
Small stickers (less than 3 inches) can be applied directly by peeling off the liner from the back of the sticker and affixing the sticker. Rub the sticker thoroughly to make sue it sticks, then carefully peel off the transfer tape. If parts of text or corners start to peel up along with the transfer tape, lay it back down and rub those areas again before removing the rest of the transfer tape. Use caution with this “dry method” as, once the sticker makes contact with the surface, it is stuck and you can’t reposition it.
Wet Method
With larger stickers, we recommend using the “wet method” of application. Mix 1 cup of cold tap water with one drop of dishwashing liquid (Dawn, Ivory, etc.). We suggest pouring this mixture into a clean spray bottle, though a lint-free rag or sponge can be used instead. Apply the water mixture liberally to the surface to which the sticker is being applied.
Carefully remove the liner from the sticker and transfer tape. Apply the sticker to the wet surface and position it where you want it. Work from the center to the outside edge of the sticker, smoothing out the sticker and eliminating wrinkles or air bubbles. A credit card works well as a “squeegee” for this purpose. Wipe up excess moisture from the edges with a paper towel.
Once the sticker is in place, let it dry for about 15 minutes and carefully peel off the transfer tape and discard. If an edge of the sticker lifts from the surface while you are peeling up the transfer tape. Use the credit card to smooth it back down and wait a couple more minutes for further drying.
